The Governing Body of Elmley Castle CofE First School is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a child with complex needs, in our Reception /year 1 class. The successful candidate will be expected support a child with social and emotional difficulties to access the provision. They will also provide general classroom support when required, working alongside the early years team and support at break and lunchtimes. Experience of working with these age groups is essential, with at least a level 2 qualification. Applicants should state any areas of expertise they may be able to bring to the school, full training will be given for the right candidate. Experience in working with a trauma informed approach would be advantageous. This is an exciting opportunity to work with delightful children as part of a dedicated and inspired staff team.

- Have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum
- Be sensitive to the needs of individual learners and a keen interest in supporting social and emotional difficulties
- Be passionate about teaching and learning
- Be enthusiastic and determined to make learning fun
- Have good Literacy and Maths skills
- Be responsible and resourceful
- Have relevant qualifications
- Be committed to raising the level of achievement for all pupils, regardless of economic background or other need
- Have a positive, cheerful attitude
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be able to reflect the values of our Church school
