We are seeking an enthusiastic, Lunchtime Supervisor to become part of our supportive, friendly and committed team. The post holder will assist with lunchtimes; setting up the hall, supporting children while they are eating their lunch and supervising the children at play.
We are looking for someone who;
- Enjoys working with children
- Is polite and able to develop positive relationships with children
- Is able to speak to children sensitively
- Is able to work as part of a team – listening to others, sharing ideas, being helpful to one another
- Is sensible and able to use their initiative
The post will involve setting up and putting away tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping floors - so anyone applying will need to be reasonably fit and strong – and have a certain amount of stamina. They will also need to be mindful of the specific needs of children on our SEND register or those that have medical needs. Full training will be given.
No qualifications are necessary but a Food Hygiene Certificate would be useful.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Vacancy
Start date: as soon as possible
Salary: Scale 1
Hours: Full time Mon-Friday (27.5 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed term, term time only & TED days
The Governing Body of Elmley Castle C of E First School is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a child who has educational and medical needs and is supported by an EHCP. We are seeking an individual who is caring and at the same time conscientious in making sure that they nurture and support a child’s educational experience to the best it can be.
This post is to support a pupil in Key Stage One and is fixed term for the duration of the child’s EHCP funding, as they grow through our school.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Experience as a qualified teaching assistant (level 1 or equivalent)
- Experience in working with lead professionals and SENDCo
- The confidence to understand and give appropriate medical care when needed (full training will be provided)
- Show empathy & kindness
- Adaptability - Using their initiative to enhance a child’s experience and learning at school.
- Have a positive, cheerful attitude
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be able to reflect the values of our Church School

Current Staff Structure
Elmley Castle CE First School currently employs approximately 12 staff in both teaching and support staff positions.
Elmley Castle is a rewarding place to work, whether you join us in a teaching or support staff role. The school is situated on the outskirts of Pershore and Evesham, at the foot of Bredon Hill.
We have three classes catering for Preschool and Reception , Years 1 and 2, and Years 3, 4 and 5 children and we currently have 56 pupils on our register as well and part-time preschool children. Ours is a friendly school, with excellent support from Governors and parents - and a positive and caring ethos. We are committed to a child-centred education and to ensuring that every child in our community has access to the highest possible standard of education.
