At Elmley Castle CE First School we value the abilities and achievements of all our pupils, and we are committed to providing the very best environment for learning for each of our pupils. It is our belief that all children have an equal right to a full and rounded education which will enable them to achieve of their very best. In line with our Christian values, we treat all children equally and SEND pupils are never disadvantage because of their needs.
To this end, we regularly update school policy to ensure we are meeting the needs of all our pupils and their families, and meeting the requirements of the new Code of Practice, introduced in September 2014.
The SEND Policy and Information Report together with our Policy for Supporting Children with Medical Conditions detail our specific offer for learners with special educational needs and / or disabilities. These documents are updated annually. Our Admission Policy and Fair Access Protocol ensures that children with SEND are always treated equally. We ensure that all pupils have access to the curriculum, information and have physical access around our school (See the Accessibility Plan)
